Document GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS support. 

We've supported GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS as an environment
variable (it comes free with our OAuth2 client) but it has never been
documented. Documenting it now to resolve #12626.
